About The Museum

The idea began on a rainy Sunday while reviewing tens of thousands of photographs collected over many years. What started as a personal archive turned into a larger question: What if a museum could exist without walls, travel, or crowds yet still feel curated, intentional, and human?

The Museum For A Rainy Day is built to answer that question.

Our Museum exists primarily in immersive virtual reality, allowing visitors to explore thoughtfully designed exhibition spaces at their own pace. Each artwork is given room to breathe. Audio commentary, spatial presentation, and careful framing are used to recreate the feeling of standing in front of a piece, without the pressure of time or distance.

The People’s Gallery

At the heart of the museum is the People’s Gallery: an open, curated space dedicated to showcasing artists from around the world.

Artists can apply through a self-service online portal, where they are guided through the submission process and provided with clear technical and artistic guidelines. Submissions are reviewed on an ongoing basis, allowing the museum to curate balanced, high-quality exhibitions while remaining accessible to emerging and established artists alike.

The People’s Gallery is not a social feed or an algorithm-driven marketplace. It is curated with the same care as a physical museum exhibition, with attention to presentation, context, and the viewer’s experience.

Seasonal and Special exhibits

In addition to the People’s Gallery, the Museum For A Rainy Day develops special and seasonal exhibitions in close collaboration with selected artists, particularly those working with video, 3D, spatial, or site-specific art that cannot be meaningfully experienced in a traditional gallery.

Some projects make use of technologies such as photogrammetry, large-scale scanning, or immersive environments to present work that would otherwise require significant travel or physical access. The goal is not novelty, but to use technology only where it meaningfully enhances how art can be experienced.

A Living Museum

Museum For A Rainy Day is an independent, privately run project. It is not a non-profit, but it is mission-driven: built around fair collaboration, transparent processes, and long-term sustainability for both artists and the platform.

As the museum grows, so will its exhibitions, tools, and ways for visitors and supporters to engage.
